Best Space NK Beauty Buys 2026: The 6 We'd Buy

Six Space NK buys worth the trip or the click, from a 39-shade concealer to the £275 advent calendar, and how the opened-returns policy, the £10 delivery pass and the slow back office really work.

Space NK is the beauty shop with real counters: a tight, expensive edit of brands, sold from high-street stores and a website. It suits people who want to try a base or a scent before committing, and who value a returns policy that accepts opened products, albeit for credit.

This guide picks six products from the UK site, each read on its product page with the lowest-rated on-site reviews first, plus one perfume we would not buy. What a product does is its brand’s claim. The headline advice: use the shops for anything with a shade or a scent, keep every receipt and tracking number, and expect refunds to take weeks rather than days.

KOSAS Revealer Concealer

A creamy, medium-coverage concealer in 39 shades, the kind of product Space NK’s counters and opened-returns policy were made for.

Kosas’s Revealer is a vegan, creamy concealer the page describes as medium and buildable, with caffeine, peptides and hyaluronic acid in the formula; what those ingredients do for skin is Kosas’s claim. It comes in 6ml and, when we checked, in 39 shades at £29 (one at £28), and the page suggests going one shade lighter for under the eyes.

It had more than 3,200 reviews. The one-star reviews split into two groups. One is about shade: very fair buyers found the lightest shades too yellow, and a medium-tan reviewer could not find a match. The other is about skin, with reports of stinging, dryness, bumps and, in one case, a long-running reaction around the eyes. A few found it creased or gave too little coverage. This is exactly where a counter helps.

Yes, if

  • You can be shade-matched in a Space NK shop
  • You want light, natural-looking cover

No, if

  • You need full coverage for dark circles
  • You have very fair or reactive skin around the eyes

Space NK’s house sets are among the best things it sells, and this one is unusually full. The page lists seven products: Skin Rocks The Support Oil 30ml, Medik8 Crystal Retinal 3 30ml, Mimétique Skin Restore Crème Visage 50ml, Ultra Violette Supreme Screen SPF50+ 50ml, plus smaller sizes of 111Skin, Caudalie and The INKEY List. The page puts its worth at £295.

Its weakness is evidence, not contents. When we checked it had only 11 reviews, all five-star, so there is nothing negative to weigh yet. Two of the seven items are small (5ml and 10ml), and it mixes a retinal with other actives, which suits someone building a routine more than a skincare beginner. Retinal is not for everyone; read Medik8’s instructions before starting.

Yes, if

  • You wanted the Medik8 retinal or Mimétique cream anyway
  • You are buying for a keen skincare gift recipient

No, if

  • You have sensitive skin and want gentle basics

LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask

Laneige’s Lip Sleeping Mask is a leave-on balm in a pot, with the brand’s berry extract complex plus coconut oil, murumuru and shea butter; the overnight hydration claims are Laneige’s. Space NK lists more than a dozen flavours, most at £21 and the seasonal ones at £22, though several were out of stock when we checked.

It had more than 2,600 reviews and a high rating, but the one-star reviews are consistent: a minority found it made their lips drier, sore or cracked after a few weeks, several blame the strong fragrance, one mentioned pink-stained pillows, and others think a plain balm does the same job. The pot also means using a finger or the little spatula.

Yes, if

  • You want a small, recognisable gift
  • You like scented, flavoured lip products

No, if

  • Your lips react to fragrance
  • You want a tube rather than a pot

Tatcha The Dewy Skin Cream

The Dewy Skin Cream is Tatcha’s best-known product: a rich cream with hyaluronic acid, red algae, Japanese purple rice and squalane, which the brand says plumps and softens fine lines. Space NK sells it at £26 for 15ml, £69 for 50ml and £97 for 75ml.

With more than 3,000 reviews it rates highly, but the one-star reviews are a fair warning. Several reviewers with acne-prone or sensitive skin report breakouts, stinging or dry patches; others found it heavy and greasy, and one blamed the scent for a headache. A buyer of the refill pod found it did not fit her original jar. Start with the 15ml before paying for the large jar.

Yes, if

  • You have dry skin and like a dewy finish
  • You will try the 15ml first

No, if

  • Your skin is oily or breakout-prone
  • You dislike scented skincare

Space NK’s calendar lists all 35 products on the page, 26 of them full size: an Augustinus Bader Body Cream 100ml, Medik8’s new PDRN serum, Olaplex No.3 Plus, a Charlotte Tilbury Beauty Light Wand, Sunday Riley Good Genes, and a 15ml Crème de la Mer among the travel sizes. It costs £275, against a claimed worth of more than £1,200.

The low reviews are about logistics more than contents. Several buyers received calendars with a leaked body wash that ruined the drawers, and complain that customer care replied only with templates; one had paid in September and was told no calendar could be sent. Others thought this year’s selection weaker than last year’s, and one noticed the price fall after ordering.

Yes, if

  • You want prestige brands rather than everyday staples
  • You will open and check it the day it arrives

No, if

  • You need it by a fixed date and cannot chase a late parcel

D.S. & DURGA Debaser in Bloom

A fig, gardenia and coconut-husk scent from D.S. & Durga, one of the niche houses Space NK carries that most high streets do not.

Space NK’s fragrance shelf is where it most clearly beats the online warehouses, and D.S. & Durga is a good example. Debaser in Bloom is described as a light unisex perfume: white currant and rosemary flower on top, fig, gardenia and cream in the heart, musk and coconut husk at the base. It costs £155 for 50ml or £229 for 100ml.

There is little to go on. It had 12 reviews when we checked, many from people who found a mini in a Space NK advent calendar, and the most critical called it a pleasant powdery floral with disappointing staying power for the price. Fragrance is the clearest case for walking into a shop and wearing it for a day first.

Yes, if

  • You want something most people will not recognise
  • You can smell it on skin in a Space NK shop first

No, if

  • You want a scent that lasts all day on skin

Where Space NK wins, and where rivals do

Space NK has two things its online rivals cannot match. The first is shops, where you can be matched for a concealer or wear a perfume for an afternoon. The second is its returns policy: unopened products come back within 28 days for a refund or exchange, and opened or used ones within 28 days for an e-gift card online, or an exchange or gift card in a shop. Click and collect is free, and a £10 Limitless pass buys a year of next-day delivery.

Rivals win on service. Cult Beauty and Lookfantastic scored 4.4 and 4.6 on Trustpilot when we checked. Space NK’s Trustpilot score was 3.7, rated Average, when we checked, and the October one-star reviews describe unanswered phones, unavailable live chat, next-day orders that took weeks and refunds still missing a month on.

How to choose

1Use the counter for shade and scent

The products with the most painful one-star reviews here are the concealer and the perfumes, and in both cases the complaint is a mismatch nobody could have predicted from a screen. Space NK’s shops exist to solve that. Get matched in daylight, take a sample or a skin test away, and buy on the second visit. If you must buy online, the opened-returns policy limits the damage to credit.

2Treat opened returns as credit

The policy is generous but specific. Unopened goods within 28 days of purchase get a refund or exchange. Opened or used goods get an e-gift card online, or an exchange or gift card in a shop. The 28 days run from purchase, not delivery. Purchases with Clearpay, PayPal, Klarna or Alipay cannot be returned in a shop, and delivery charges are never refunded.

3Do not return too much

A help article updated on 23 October 2026 says Space NK may suspend or close an account if the volume of returns is unusually high relative to items kept, or restrict future purchases. It gives no threshold. The opened-returns policy is a safety net for honest mistakes, not a sampling service, and a run of returns could cost you the account.

4Buy the delivery pass if you order twice

Standard delivery is £4, free over £25, and next day is £5.95 for orders before 7pm. The Limitless Delivery Beauty Pass is a single £10 payment for a year of free next-day delivery, so it pays for itself on the second express order. Several recent Trustpilot reviewers say pass orders still arrived late, so do not rely on it for a birthday deadline.

What we'd skip

Vyrao Ever 11 EDP

A black cherry, leather and patchouli perfume at £94 for 30ml, sold with copy that calls it neuroscience-backed to enhance self-esteem by 97%. That figure is the brand’s, and the page does not say how it was measured. Its reviews are split, with two one-star buyers describing a headache and nausea. Smell it first.

Your questions, answered

Can I return opened makeup to Space NK?

Yes, within 28 days of purchase with proof of purchase, but you will not get your money back. Opened or used products returned online earn an e-gift card; in a shop you can exchange or take a gift card. Unopened goods can be refunded. Free gifts must come back unopened too, or only credit is offered, and an account with an unusually high return rate may be restricted.

How long do Space NK refunds take?

Longer than at most online rivals. The help centre said in October 2026 that returns were being processed within 14 working days of reaching the warehouse, longer than usual, and may take longer after peak season. Card refunds can then take up to five days to show. Keep your postage receipt: parcels lost on the way back are not treated as returned.

Is Space NK’s advent calendar worth £275?

Only if you want most of what is in it. The page lists all 35 products, which makes the decision easier: count the ones you would buy anyway at full price. Several buyers this year received calendars with leaked body wash, and one reviewer noticed the price fall after ordering, so there may be a case for waiting, at the risk of it selling out.

If Space NK isn't for you

  • Cult Beauty has a similar prestige brand list and a higher Trustpilot score, but no shops and an unopened-only returns rule.
  • Liberty London sells its own beauty advent calendar and has a London beauty hall where you can try before buying.
