Kurt Geiger has turned a small crystal-studded eagle’s head into one of the most recognisable logos on the British high street. It suits people who want a statement bag or a party shoe at a price below designer labels, and who are happy to treat both with some care.

This guide picks six things from the current UK range: two Kensington bags, an evening heel, a knee boot, a loafer and a flat from the cheaper KG Kurt Geiger line. Kurt Geiger publishes no customer reviews on its product pages, so the weaknesses here come from the product details, the brand’s own care advice and its Trustpilot complaints. The headline advice: buy in a standalone shop if you can, because that is where exchanges and free returns live.

Leather Kensington Bag

The full-size Kensington in quilted black lambskin, big enough for a large phone, with two compartments and a chain strap that works across the body.

The Kensington is the bag Kurt Geiger is known for, and this black leather version is the one to buy if you want it to work every day rather than once a month. It is quilted lambskin with a crystal-covered gold eagle on the flap, measures 17cm by 26cm by 8cm, and has two interior compartments, a magnetic snap under the flap and a chain strap with padded leather inserts that drops 111cm across the body. The page says it fits phones up to seven inches.

The catch is in Kurt Geiger’s own care advice: gemstones and embellishments “may loosen or come away over time”, and the brand does not treat that as a fault. Trustpilot complaints about bags include a strap fitting that snapped within a year and bags delivered dented in plastic mailers rather than boxed.

Yes, if

  • You want a black bag with some sparkle
  • You carry a large phone and a few essentials

No, if

  • You want hardware that will never need repair
2Best gift

Mini Denim Kensington Bag

The lowest-priced Kensington we found when we checked: a mini in acid-wash denim with an antiqued brass eagle and a long chain strap.

For a first Kurt Geiger bag or a present, the mini Kensington is the obvious choice, and the denim version was the lowest-priced one we found in the range in October. It is acid-wash denim with a woven print, an antiqued brass eagle with crystals, a magnetic snap and a chain strap that drops 120cm across the body. At 14cm by 20cm by 6cm it holds a phone of up to seven inches and not much more, with one small internal pocket.

The weaknesses come from the materials. Kurt Geiger’s care page says brass can tarnish when it gets damp and that crystals coming loose is normal wear, so this is a bag to keep out of the rain. Trustpilot reviewers also report bags arriving scuffed or without a box, so open a gift order as soon as it lands.

Yes, if

  • You want a Kensington at the lowest price
  • You only carry a phone, cards and keys

No, if

  • You need room for a purse or sunglasses

Belsize Sling Back Heel

The Belsize is the brand’s signature slingback: pointed toe, a mirrored gold stiletto 8.5cm high, and the eagle head, oversized and set with crystals, sitting on the toe. This version is gold leather, in sizes 35 to 42. It is a shoe for occasions rather than commutes, and it looks it.

There are no product reviews to read, so look at the Trustpilot complaints about Kurt Geiger heels. One recent buyer says an expensive pair’s heels wore down within six months and the company offered no resolution; another found a pair a whole size small against the size chart, with the heel hanging off the back. Add the brand’s position that loose crystals are not a fault, and this is a shoe to buy in a shop, try on carefully and wear for the evening.

Yes, if

  • You want an occasion shoe that gets noticed
  • You are comfortable on an 8.5cm stiletto

No, if

  • You need a heel to stand in all day
  • You cannot try them on in a shop
4Best for winter

Ascot Knee Boot

A black suede knee-high boot on a 5cm elongated block heel: the most wearable of the brand’s autumn boots.

Most Kurt Geiger boots this season are slouchy, stompy or studded. The Ascot is the quiet one: black suede to the knee on a 5cm elongated block heel, in sizes 35 to 43. It works over tights with a skirt or with slim trousers, and the low heel makes it a boot you can walk in. (Its page title calls it the Bella, but the product name is Ascot.)

The weakness is suede in a British winter. Kurt Geiger’s care page asks you to spray suede with protector before first wear and regularly after, to avoid wearing it in wet weather, and warns that dark suede may transfer colour to lighter fabrics, which it does not count as a fault. Trustpilot complaints about heels wearing down quickly apply here too.

Yes, if

  • You want a smart knee boot with a low heel
  • You will spray and brush suede properly

No, if

  • You need a boot for rain and puddles
  • You wear pale tights or trousers underneath

Eagle Moccasin

Kurt Geiger’s flats are where the brand is easiest to wear every day, and the Eagle Moccasin is the plainest of them. It is brown suede, with the toe capped in the brand’s overstitch quilting and a tied bow finished with antiqued brass aglets. Sizes run from 35 to 43, though several were down to the last pairs or sold out when we checked.

It shares the suede caveats of the Ascot boot: protector spray before wearing, dry weather where possible, and possible colour transfer. The brass trims can tarnish if they get wet. And the returns rule matters more with flats than bags: Kurt Geiger asks you to try shoes indoors, on carpet, and return them unworn in an undamaged box, so a single walk to the shops ends your chance to send them back.

Yes, if

  • You want a comfortable flat with some polish
  • You prefer a subtle trim to a big logo

No, if

  • You need a shoe that copes with wet pavements

Mindy Ballet Flat

KG Kurt Geiger is the brand’s lower-priced line, and the Mindy shows what it offers: the look for about half the price of the main-line flats. It is a black ballet flat with a soft fabric toe cap and a small KG charm on the bow, in sizes 36 to 42, at £69.

Read the material line, which says microsuede, not leather. That is the trade-off for the price, and synthetic uppers do not stretch or mould to the foot the way leather does. Material descriptions are worth checking across the site: one recent Trustpilot reviewer complained that a pair of ankle boots listed as leather turned out to have synthetic uppers. The size range is also narrower than the main line’s, stopping at 42.

Yes, if

  • You want a smart flat for under £70
  • You need a spare pair for the office

No, if

  • You want a leather shoe that moulds to your foot

Why Kurt Geiger, and why not

Kurt Geiger’s case is design at a mid-market price. The Kensington bag and the eagle motif are distinctive in a way few high-street rivals manage, the main line uses real leather and suede, and the cheaper KG line brings the look under £100. Its standalone shops matter too: they take online returns free and are the only place to exchange.

Rivals are calmer and often sturdier. Radley makes plainer leather bags, Russell & Bromley makes shoes designed to last beyond a season, and Dune London covers similar party shoes for less. Kurt Geiger’s Trustpilot score was 3 out of 5 when we checked, and its recent one-star reviews are dominated by lost or late parcels, cancelled orders, items missing from boxes and frustration with chatbot replies.

Before you buy: how to pick

1Check which Kurt Geiger line you are buying

The site mixes Kurt Geiger London, the main line, with KG Kurt Geiger, the cheaper diffusion range, and the brand name on each listing tells you which. Main-line shoes in this guide are leather or suede; KG pieces are often synthetic, such as the Mindy’s microsuede. Each product page states the material near the end of the description, and it is worth reading before the price.

2Pick a bag size by what you carry

Kensington bags come in mini, medium, standard, XXL and the oversized Macro. The mini measures 14cm by 20cm by 6cm and takes a phone of up to seven inches; the standard leather version is 17cm by 26cm by 8cm with two compartments. Every product page lists dimensions, strap drops and whether a large phone fits, so measure your phone and purse before ordering.

3Treat the crystals as decoration, not a fixture

Many Kurt Geiger pieces carry crystals or gems, and the brand’s care page says they may loosen or come away with regular use and that this is not a fault. Brass hardware can tarnish when damp, and the Mini Fabric Kensington’s page even asks you to take extra care styling it with delicate fabrics. If sparkle matters to you, keep embellished pieces dry, avoid knocks and friction, and expect occasional repairs as the price of the look.

4Shop where you can exchange

Online orders cannot be exchanged on the website. A postal return costs £3.95 per parcel and any discount on your first order is lost when you reorder. Standalone Kurt Geiger shops take online returns free and handle exchanges; outlets and department-store concessions do neither for online orders. Bought in a shop, the window is shorter: 14 days for full-price items, and sale items are exchange-only within seven. Decide which matters more to you, the longer online window or the free swap.

Your questions, answered

Are lost crystals on Kurt Geiger bags covered as a fault?

Generally not. Kurt Geiger’s care page says that with regular use, gemstones and embellishments on jewellery, shoes and bags may loosen or come away over time, and that this is normal and not considered a fault. It recommends avoiding impact, friction and water. If a stone falls out in the first days, contact the After Care team with photos anyway; your statutory rights still apply.

Can I exchange a Kurt Geiger online order for another size?

Not online. The help centre says the website does not offer exchanges, so the options are to take the item to a standalone Kurt Geiger shop, where staff can exchange it, or to pay £3.95 to post it back and place a new order. Any discount code on the first order will not carry over to the second, and outlets and concessions will not handle online returns.

Why does Kurt Geiger have no product reviews?

When we checked in October 2026, the UK product pages carried no customer reviews or star ratings. That leaves Trustpilot, where the company scored 3 out of 5 from around 5,700 reviews. Its recent one- and two-star reviews are mostly about delivery and service rather than individual products, with some complaints about heels wearing, gems going missing and sizing.

Do Kurt Geiger shoes run small?

The evidence is thin, because the site has no product reviews. Among recent Trustpilot complaints, one buyer found a pair of heels a whole size small against the size chart and another said the shoes ran small and needed sizing up, while a third found sliders too big. Try heels on in a shop where possible, on carpet if at home, and keep the box undamaged in case they go back.

If Kurt Geiger isn't for you

  • Radley makes quieter British leather bags, with a Scottie dog in place of the eagle and fewer crystals to lose.
  • Russell & Bromley costs more for shoes, but its leather boots and flats are built to last more than one season.
  • Dune London covers similar party shoes and bags for a little less, with its own high-street shops.
