Premier Inn’s case rests on this room. Every one, the brand says, has the Premier Inn Bed (the Mattress 2.0, made with Silentnight), a duvet, a choice of firm and soft pillows, blackout curtains, Freeview TV, tea and coffee, Baylis & Harding toiletries and a power shower, with a bath in most rooms. Check-in is from 3pm and check-out by noon; overstay and you can be charged up to another night.
The room is consistent; the building around it is not. Premier Inn’s Trustpilot page is rated Poor, with Trustpilot noting the company has not invited reviews recently, so the sample leans towards the aggrieved. Even so, the complaints repeat: dirty carpets and mould, rooms not cleaned, noisy air conditioning, unstaffed receptions and restaurants that have closed. Look up the individual hotel before you book.
